How old do I have to be?
Mature enough to join in with other mature people – birth certificates not required!
Do I need previous dance experience?
No.
What happens in the sessions?
- A warm-up to improve and maintain posture, balance and co-ordination.
- Practise steps and sequences related to the choreography
and group members skills. - Learn and dance the choreographed pieces, unique to NRM,
to great music. Solo, pairs and group dances.
What type of music is used?
Pop, classical, jazz, Latin American, vocal, instrumental – if it’s stimulating for dance and a fine example of its genre we use it.
Can I start to attend NRM after the start of each term?
- Yes, you’ll gradually learn the existing dances and new ones are
introduced regularly which everyone will be learning for the first time. - The nature of NRM is non-competitive.
- As regular a commitment as you’re able, once you’ve
started, produces more benefits.

- Feeling energised, happy and a sense of achievement after a session.
- Help with balance and co-ordination.
- Working the physical movement (motor) memory.
